    Verdict

Coincidence has seen the last three winners at the abandoned Newbury card carry Hamdan Al Maktoum's colours to victory for three different trainers. One of those trainers was John Gosden and he runs TAQDEER, a runner-up at Wolverhampton in December and Paul Hanagan's choice ahead of Kempton fourth Mustashry. Dante entry Victory Bond made a promising start at Newbury last term and Tiercel could go well having gone close on his debut at Sandown. Ryan Moore partners Newmarket fourth Poet's Word while Makzeem is a brother to high-class former stablemate Al Kazeem and El Hayem cost 350,000gns.
