In depth

Verdict

JOHNNY REB ran well for third behind the unbeaten Bielsa at Doncaster on his reappearance. Jeremy Noseda’s colt had gone close at Kempton on last year’s debut and a bold bid is expected back on the all-weather. The more exposed pair, White Coat and Mendoza, share the same official rating and are both weighted to beat Derry Boy while Heath Charnock won at Newcastle last season but has something to prove now having finished last of 18 on his return to action. Kodiak Attack is a half-brother to the speedy Group 2 winner Ardad and a newcomer to note.
