Verdict

Four miles around here takes some getting and it might be too far for Wonderful Charm, even though he’s run in two Grand Nationals. Mendip Express has only run over the trip once before and was pulled up but Vasco Du Mee won this in 2016, though he was no match for HAYMOUNT (NAP) at Kingston Blount last time when Changeofluck finished third. Tom Ellis’ thorough stayer was pulled up in the Foxhunter here in March but his record for the yard is otherwise unblemished and he’s favoured by today’s weights. Southfield Theatre should give Sara Bradstock a good ride with Optimised and Jack Snipe possibly the pick of the remainder.
