        Verdict

        Poet's Magic ran her best race so far when third at Windsor and is only a pound higher but AKWAAN is preferred. Simon Crisford’s colt was too green to do himself justice last year but should be a different proposition after another winter. Elegant Love has hinted at ability but may do better back on the all-weather. Laxmi’s progress has stalled and she lacks a bit of scope now and Shifting Gold has something to find with Poet's Magic.
