In depth
Verdict
With a couple of old favourites in this and a couple of useful recruits graduating from pointing, this is an interesting contest. The winner of the Martell Cup back in 1999, Macgeorge was a high-class chaser at his best, but now 13, age may be catching up with him. Another decent handicapper Earthmover actually started his racing career in this sphere, where he was unbeaten in his first five Hunter chases. Now 12, he returned to action in good style at Wetherby over the weekend and providing he handles this testing ground, looks the one to beat. Very much the youngster of the party, Major Benefit has some decent point form to his name, but he faces a stiff task against two more than useful chasers and he may have to settle for the minor honours.
