This is a wide open race and Mughas, Ruby Gale, Tardar and Derivative should all go well, but we will take a chance on Javelin. This gelding from the Ian Williams yard ran well behind the fancied Positive Profile at Doncaster last time, and looks to be on a handy mark at present. He finished well clear of the third horse home Totally Scottish on that day, and should take a good deal of beating here. Ruby Gale represents the main danger as this gelding ran well at Newton Abbot last time behind Achilles Wings. He had travelled sweetly throughout the race, and as that was his first run in over a year, he is bound to come on for the run. Mughas was a good winner on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree last month, and having finished fifth in the triumph hurdle last season, he clearly is a danger to all in this grade. Tardar is returning after a break but would have chances on his best form, while Anatar does have winning form but might find his stamina stretched to the limit at this trip. Derivative is the other one worth considering as he was a fair fourth behind Blue Away at Cheltenham last month. This is a good competitive race, and Mughas should go well, but we will take a chance on Javelin.
