Verdict
The Paul Nicholls-trained gelding Oracle des Mottes is sure to be popular here, but we will take a chance on Forbearing. The selection made a promising debut over hurdles when finishing third behind Guarded Secret at Uttoxeter last month. Although he does not look anything out of the ordinary, he is sure to come on for that run and should go well. Oracle des Mottes is the one he has to beat and he was a good second behind Cool Spice on this track last time. That was a decent effort and he looks sure to give another good account here, although he did not hurdle as fluently as he could have done on that day and is therefore taken on here. Plastic Paddy unseated his rider last time at Uttoxeter after being well backed, so he could be the dark horse in the race who may go well at a decent price. If he is supported in the market again, it might be foolish to ignore him as he has certainly shown enough to suggest he could be capable of winning a race of this nature. Of the rest, Wood Street ran well enough last time on this track behind Albuhera so could go well, but we are happy to take a chance on Forebearing.
