Verdict
STEELY ADDITION (NAP) was giving 7lb when beating the subsequently-impressive Yalltari over course and distance last month. On that evidence, he’s going to take all the beating in this. Chef Des Obeaux developed into a useful staying hurdler last season but he failed to justify favouritism on his reappearance and chasing bow at Uttoxeter and finished six lengths behind the more-experienced Now Mcginty. Tobefair has won seven times over timber but hasn’t shown much aptitude for chasing so far but fences could be the making of Captain Cattistock and any market support would be significant. De Rasher Counter won a novices handicap at Newbury ahead of a couple of previous winners but more would be needed here under his penalty. Johanos may prove the pick of the remainder as he would have needed at Newbury when just behind a subsequent winner.
