In depth

Verdict

Sovietta was successful at Leicester yesterday and if she does take part she will be hard to beat, Cotton Easter and Mossman Gorge may provide most danger. Sovietta and Cotton Easter met at Bath recently with the latter coming out on top by a short head. It was a very weak affair but this looks even worse and these two could fight out the finish. It is hard to choose between them but Sovietta does have a nice weight pull and may just gain revenge. Mossmann Gorge had no answer to the finishing burst of the well handicapped Trouble Mountain at Nottingham last time but was clear second best with some reliable performers behind. He does have to shoulder top-weight today but should still be involved in the finish. The pick of the others could be Ben Bacchus but we will stick with Sovietta as our idea of the winner.
