In depth

Verdict

A competitive if low grade sprint handicap but at least OPTIMYSTIC does have the advantage of being relatively unexposed against her elders and looks feasibly treated, especially with the talented Rob Hornby taking a further 5lb off the filly's back. She still looked far from the finished article last time but has been given a good break and looks handicapped to go close. Malcolm Saunders has always done well with sprinters and Lucky Clover should give a good account under Cathy Gannon with conditions to suit the daughter of Lucky Story. Pull The Pin is another who usually runs his race and is expected to go well along with course winner Diamond Vine, who remains in fair form.
