Tarfah looked to be a filly to follow judged on her Windsor win last time, and she gets the selection again here ahead of Swagger Stick, Tableau and Anna Pallida. The Gerard Butler-trained selection beat some fair types when romping to victory at the Berkshire venue. Her trainer has always held her in high regard but she has been held back by some niggling problems. Having already proven that she acts on good to soft another thing in her favour and, as we say, she gets the call. Swagger Stick was a disappointment when backed for the Old Newton Cup but it could be that he did not stay the 12 furlongs on that occasion, despite having won over this earlier in his career. However, dropped in trip today, and with his stable in much better form now, he should run well. So should Tableau, who displayed a likeable attitude when scoring at Newmarket last time, and has every chance of staying this longer trip, and Anna Pallida, a beautifully-bred filly who is on the upgrade. An interesting race, then, to get things underway and one in which, once again, we will opt for Tarfah.
