      Verdict

Another competitive affair here but the principals look to be Red Lancer, Plane Painter and Sporting Gesture and the narrow nomination is given to Plane Painter. The selection was a fair second behind Phreeze last time out, he again has conditions to suit and in receipt of all the weight-for-age allowances he looks a value bet in an open affair. Red Lancer rates the main danger as he goes particularly well at the track and he was a fair sixth behind Arc Bleu last time out. He looks sure to have the race run to suit and with his yard in form he will not be far away. Sporting Gesture is game and consistent and was a fair second behind Hugs Destiny last time out. However that horse has since been well beaten under his penalty and he looks opposable on that basis. Luna Landing was a fair fifth behind Ajaan last time out and is another with place claims but he looks weighted up to his best. Of the remainder, Stretton and Prelude are other course winners with place claims but they look in the handicappers grip at present and with this in mind the three-year-old Plane Painter looks the one to be on.
