In depth

Verdict

Far Gone gets the confident vote in this maiden with Stagecoach Topaz and Cealtra Star rating the main dangers. The selection was a fair fourth behind High Days last time out, form which looks solid and from the plot draw he is given one last chance to get his head in front. Stagecoach Topaz rates the main danger as he is a well-bred colt by Stravinsky and with the Mark Johnston two-year-olds back in form he should be watched in the market, but the suspicion is he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Cealtra Star hails from a yard that is doing well with its youngsters and this filly by Mujadil is another with place claims but the draw could have been kinder. Of the remainder, Misterisland is another form a yard that can ready a debutant but this colt by Spectrum is bred to be suited by a longer trip and with this in mind Far Gone sets a fair standard and he will be hard to beat.
