Verdict

LUXEMBOURG, the 2021 Futurity winner, gained his second Group 1 success in the Irish Champion Stakes and, though penalised, is a long way clear on official ratings. He's also unbeaten in two starts here and is difficult to oppose. Layfayette won this a year ago, when Visualisation was third, but this looks a stronger renewal. Insinuendo looked at home on the testing ground when landing a Group 3 here in March and was conceding 3lb to Above The Curve when beaten a neck in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes here in September. Piz Badile and Trevaunance face stiff tests on their return to action though should be winning races sooner rather than later.
