Verdict

It isn't out of the question that a newcomer can win this but the percentage call is PETRONIUS MAXIMUS. The Ballydoyle colt put a couple of moderate runs behind him with an astonishing display in the 5f Windsor Castle Stakes at Ascot where he came from out of the clouds inside the final furlong to snatch the runner's-up spot behind Marine Commando. Sydney Harbour has improved with each run but looked in need of at least 7f when a close second behind Snow Mountain over that trip at Limerick. Three of the newcomers are very interesting and should be noted for the future. A World Apart is related to some high-class performers including useful juveniles while Snow Watch is a full brother to the 6f two-year-old winner Villasol. Zabarajad is a colt by Invincible Spirit and the first foal of a winning miler in France so this trip should be ideal.
