Verdict
Samuel Morse won a couple of 5f races here before a fair effort when stepped up in trip and class in the Coventry Stakes. He couldn't cope with the front three at Ascot but ran well enough and looks sure to give a good account. Clondinnery has done very well for Ger Lyons and landed a Listed race on fast ground at Cork last time in convincing fashion. He's definitely on the upgrade and can go well though a chance is taken on the English raider FORMOSINA. Jeremy Noseda's colt looked one to follow when storming to victory in a Doncaster maiden two weeks ago and though this is a big step-up in class he can make the transition. Chilworth Lad scored over 5f at Ascot early last month but has looked in need of an extra furlong on his two subsequent starts, the latest at the Royal meeting behind Marine Commando when Oor Jock was well beaten. Longhunter made a big impression when easily landing a 7f Leopardstown maiden last month and could be anything.
