This must be one of Ballydoyle's favourite juvenile events having won it 11 times in the past 16 renewals. They have three entries this time but, not surprisingly, Joseph O'Brien has plumped for OL' MAN RIVER, a 2.85 million euros Montjeu colt out of the brilliant Finsceal Beo. He made such an impressive debut here last month that he was immediately shortened for next season's classics and there will be some long faces if he's beaten here. Order Of St George looks the best of his stable companions after routing the opposition on soft ground at Leopardstown though Tombelaine looks more of a threat. He beat the highly-regarded Highland Reel on his debut and has since come up against a pair of very useful Ballydoyle colts in Gleneagles and John F Kennedy. Convergence disappointed in the Futurity here but one to note for the future is Mcguigan as Jim Bolger wouldn't enter a newcomer for a Group 2 unless thought capable of a big run.
