Verdict

Gordon Lord Byron won this in 2015 and was beaten a neck last year. This is his level nowadays and he's been running well enough in Group 3 races to suggest he will take some beating. Ardhoomey is carrying a penalty for his Listed success over 5f here last month and that was on heavy going. He finished behind Smash Williams in a Leopardstown Group 3 last time and the latter is slowly making his way back to his best. Aidan O'Brien has three entries and the three-year-old FLEET REVIEW can bounce back after a moderate effort in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Runner-up in a Group 3 at Naas behind stable companion Sioux Nation earlier, this looks more like his level and he can see off the attentions of stable companion Intelligence Cross, who has run poorly in his two starts this season.
