          Verdict

          Sir Effendi confirmed the merit of his fine seasonal reappearance outing when landing a Thirsk handicap (now 4lb higher) and should go close while Danelor represents the stable that took this event twelve months ago with the subsequent Hunt Cup hero Surprise Encounter and caught the eye when a tenderly handled Haydock fourth on his return last week. Attache is well treated at present but Chispa has yet to prove herself over this trip. Taranaki, a dual winner this term, is ideally suited by trip/ground and can't be discounted in an open heat.
