        Verdict

        Little to choose between Mister Mal and Budelli on Newmarket form behind Marsad on the same terms. The latter has the services of Dettori and was a consistent type last term but was then a shade disappointing at Thirsk. Surprised failed to confirm a fair reappearance effort last time but is on an attractive mark and, along with dual winner Gloaming and the capable veteran Cadeaux Cher, has to be respected in a difficult contest.
