In depth
Verdict
An interesting maiden can go to Dr Thong, who is given preference over Panshir and Gasparini after his eye-catching reappearance effort at Newbury last month. Gutsavo and Puri are others to note in the betting, while support for Mad Maurice should also be considered significant. However, Dr Thong has an intriguing pedigree that combines his sire's stamina for at least this trip with a fair amount of speed from his dam's side. The son of Dr Fong created the impression that a race of this nature was his for the taking and he is a strong fancy to deliver the good today. Panshir is probably better than his last run would suggest and he is fancied to give Dr Thong the most to do.
