Verdict
FLAWED GENIUS is dropped in class and will find this easier than at Ascot last time; Royal Dignitary is considered the most obvious danger in the line-up. Neil Callan is back on board the selection and he was on board the horse for both his win at Thirsk and his third at Chester, both runs coming in May. He was subsequently outclassed in two big handicaps but is best in at the weights in this claimer and can come out on top. Royal Dignitary is 3lb worse off with the selection than if this were a handicap, but he comes here in fair form after two decent claiming runs at Southwell and Redcar and he should provide stiff opposition. Singleb has a bit to find at the weights and this well-travelled Intikhab gelding is therefore opposed, as is Aussie Blue who has been in good form in low-grade handicaps but this looks tougher. A similar comment applies to Mick Is Back and therefore we will side with Flawed Genius to bounce back to winning ways.
