Verdict
Snow Bunting, for whom Jamie Spencer is an eye-catching booking, can land a competitive seven-furlong event that closes the card, with Tre Colline among a number that can be given chances. Tre selection won off a six-pound lower mark at Doncaster on June 7 and, although beaten off this mark last time, still ran well enough to suggest she should be competitive at this level. However, Snow Bunting is now six-pounds better off for the length-and-a-half he was beaten at Doncaster last month, which swings it in the selection's favour. Eleven-time winner Amaranth is one for the shortlist, being well handicapped at best, which includes when winning from an 11lb-higher mark at Yarmouth last August, albeit in an amateur contest. Jakeal won from a mark of 65 (now 63) at Haydock last August on good to soft, although he acts on good to firm. Warren Warren has also proven that he can win from his current mark, as has Mantles Pride, albeit that was two years ago. Scarrattoo hinted at a return to form last time, and won in July last year. Woodland River has had breathing problems and, although he hasn't run for 375 days, has form from a much higher mark. The bottom eight in the weights have barely won a race between them, the best of them probably being Swynford Elegance. But, for us, Snow Bunting and Jamie Spencer catch the eye and get the nod.
