Verdict

A big field for the getting out stakes and we will concentrate on Marshallspark, Currency and Dispol Katie, with the vote going to the latter. Of that trio, the selection is more of a five furlong specialist, and was coming back to form when second at the trip on soft ground in the Falmouth Handicap at York's Ebor meeting last time out. Although she has never won off this mark, she has shown some decent form at it, goes on this ground better than when it is softer and looks to have a better chance than most. Marshallspark will be popular after progressing to win two from his last three starts, though both of those have been over six furlongs. Given that he has also won over further than that, this drop back in trip is far from certain to suit, and although another decent effort is anticipated, it will be a tall order to take the race. Currency is another who will have his supporters, after a fast ground six furlong win at Bath last time. Milton Bradley's charge remains below his highest winning mark despite a 6lb penalty here, and now that he has found some form it would be churlish to write him off. He won't the drop back in trip quite as taxing as Marshallspark, but he doesn't win often and we are prepared to oppose him on that basis. So Dispol Katie is the one for us.
