held up in touch, headway over 3f out, went 2nd over 2f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
made all, ridden clear inside final furlong, easily
tracked leaders, outpaced over 2f out, rallied closing stages, never a threat
held up in rear, effort over 2f out, hung left and weakened over 1f out
FIDAAWY got going too late behind Zest at Nottingham last month. If a bit more alert in the stalls today, Sir Michael Stoute's colt could recoup losses getting a couple of pounds from Haydock maiden winner Fastnet Tempest, though the top weight won't be fazed by stepping back up in trip. Richie Mccaw may need this but any market support should be noted and both Jim Dandy and Henry The Explorer appear to be running into form. But Caponova's Haydock bubble was burst last month and he now looks to be in the handicapper's grip.
