Verdict

A tight one to call, but High Voltage just edges a narrow vote over Brocklesby winner Red Power, with the David Barron-trained Baltic Wave feared also respected. However, High Voltage is well treated by the terms of this race and can make the most of what looks to be a good opportunity if he runs up to form. Red Power, who picks up 10lbs in penalties for his exertions so far, is proving to be a game performer who should continue to make an impact when he steps into handicap company but he will do well to cope with conceding so much weight to an improving sort like High Voltage here. Baltic Wave came up against a useful type at Beverley last month but needs to improve to land the spoils here. Waterline Blue and Annabel Lee also fit into that profile to add spice to an intriguing little contest.
