In depth

Verdict

A good race in prospect and a number of these are worth following from this point on. However, the buck stops with Earlsfield Raider for win only purposes today, with Mezereon, Precious Mystery and Inch Island all worth noting in running for future reference. The Richard Guest-trained Prince Of Persia is another worthy of consideration as he is open to plenty of improvement and his shrewd trainer is likely to find a race for him sooner rather than later. For today though, he may just have to settle for a minor role as Earlsfield Raider has shaped with plenty of promise in each of his four previous outings over hurdles. Garry Moore has kept him sharp with a recent outing on the all weather but the son of Double Trigger has shaped as if this is his game and he given a confident vote this afternoon. Already a winner of a valuable juvenile contest at Sandown, Earlsfield Raider, has plenty of scope for the future and should be able to cope with his penalty here.
