In depth

Verdict

Pine Bay, Thorntoun Piccolo and Sam¿s Secret are the three who stand out here, and preference is for Pine Bay. Thorntoun Piccolo was only beaten a length and a half by Pertemps Magus at Ayr over six furlongs and she was staying on at the finish. That was an improved display by James Goldie¿s runner. This extra furlong will suit and she can run well. Sam¿s Secret also ran well last time behind Wrighty Almighty at Doncaster and will be thereabouts. For the selection though we turn to Pine Bay. She started an unconsidered 20-1 shot when going down by half a length to Keyaki at Goodwood. That was a decent contest and a little better than those her rivals have been running in. The Richard Hannon team is flying and Pine Bay can prove too sharp for her rivals.
