In depth

Verdict

Last week’s easy Beverley winner LA TRINIDAD carries a penalty and drops down a furlong but the handicapper is putting him up 9lb next week so it makes sense to run him in this with only 6lb extra. Dilithium was only sixth when favourite at Wolverhampton but has been lightly raced and is obviously thought capable of better. Kentucky Hardboot came from another parish to score at Yarmouth and has his ground again but has been raised 8lb. Jaaneh is a sister to a winning miler so a step up in trip will almost certainly suit the daughter of Dubawi on her handicap debut but she hasn’t shown a great deal so far. Almqvist won at Lingfield in March but tackles this surface for the first time.
