      Verdict

      Although well treated on official BHB ratings, Kelucia is more exposed than most of her rivals and Jim Goldie's filly looks worth taking on which we do with New Mexican, who gets the verdict over Gold History and Mutawaffer. The last mentioned represents the stable of Barry Hills that has a fine record at this meeting. The son of Marju has to be respected but disappointed in the Horris Hill when last seen so preference is for New Mexican. Lynda Ramsden's colt showed progressive form last term, winding up with success in a Listed Race at Pontefract, and with further improvement to come, he gets the vote here. Mark Johnston's horses have shown up well during the first two days of this fixture so chances are that Gold History may well be forward enough to do himself justice. Mick Channon's Makfool should come on for his recent reappearance in the Spring Cup on the Polytrack last week and he is another worthy of a mention but it is New Mexican who gets the vote.
