Venetia Williams has maintained a good strike-rate recently and she can pick up again with Noisetine, who takes her racing well and, with Tony McCoy back in the plate, is expected to make a bold bid. Polar Scout from the in-form Charlie Mann yard and Garde Bien, whose stable are also enjoying a good little spell, are expected to pose the most problems. The latter receives plenty of weight today and, as a previous course and distance winner, is very much respected. However, he ran a shocker last time at Catterick and now has a little to prove. Polar Scout is a horse with plenty of ability that will be very hard to master if his jumping holds together. However, he would not want the going to alter significantly and may have trouble jumping out of this ground if it comes up soft by the off time. Therefore, we switch to Noisetine, who is a versatile mare that can adapt her style to meet the requirements of the ground. Allied to that, is the fact that she has taken a little time to really return to full fitness after her summer break. So, with a string of solid recent efforts to her name, Noisetine, looks worth a play at the likely prices in a wide open contest.
