      Verdict

A little bit of a guessing game with regard to the ability of the newcomers and the betting market should be carefully monitored for the best indications regarding the confidence of the various connections. However, as both Beauty Of Dreams and Nine Red have already proved to be beatable, it would be no surprise to see this go to one of the debutantes. Badminton, who hails from a yard that are on the crest of a wave at the moment, gets a narrow vote over Liberty to make a winning racecourse bow. The selection is closely related to the useful Cala, who finished a good second to Kulood in the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes for Clive Brittain earlier in the season, and although she may do better as three-year-old; she could represent the best value in the race if punters overreact to the Fallon factor with Liberty. The champion jockey's mount is also bred to do better over further in time and is unlikely to be seen at her best until she tackles at least 10 furlongs judging by her pedigree - so is not really one to go overboard about in a race of this nature at the likely cramped odds.
