In depth

Verdict

All eyes will be on will be on SAMCRO as he makes his chasing debut. Gordon Elliott's charge won his first eight races in a point-to-point, bumpers and novice company over hurdles before failing to fire in his three starts at the back-end of last year. Regular partner Jack Kennedy is on board and there will be some long faces around if he can't steer his mount to a debut success over fences. The stable also run Dortmund Park, another who disappointed after a superb novice career culminating in a surprise victory in the Champion Novice Hurdle at Punchestown in April last year. He has been well beaten in all subsequent starts at the highest level. Trappist Monk looks a very nice prospect for fences and made steady progress over hurdles. He could be the one to take advantage if the stablemates don't come up to scratch. Myth Buster is another chasing type who showed enough potential over hurdles to suggest he'll be winning before long.
