This is always competitive and it's a long time since a favourite won. Ivanovich Gorbatov has been contesting all the big handicaps and though he hasn't won for a while his close second to Lakemilan at Killarney in August when conceding 23lb puts him in the frame for this. Stooshie is only just out of the novice stage and could do with some rain but stable companion Count Simon is best on quicker going and found 2m4f too far last time.
