Verdict

MONALEE can progress into a championship contender this campaign - if he gets his jumping act together. He beat Gold Cup hope Al Boum Photo in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown before his second to Presenting Percy in the RSA at Cheltenham but has fallen twice, the last time when travelling well until coming to grief two out at Punchestown, when The Storyteller went on to win, and previously when falling at Leopardstown in the race won by Shattered Love. He has a Group 1 penalty to carry here as does The Storyteller so there is very little to separate the trio on these terms. Kerry National winner Snow Falcon was behind the selection at Leopardstown but deserves another crack at this level and has fitness on his side while the prolific Peregrine Run is also at his peak following a very easy victory in a Wexford Listed contest.
