      Verdict

      CORNAKILL returned to action in the Group 3 1000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown last week and though no match for eventual winner Bethrah is was a performance of some promise and she can go on to better things. Elusive Award looked very promising when landing his opening runs last season and has competed at a higher level subsequently but Dermot Weld tries him in blinkers after finishing last at the Curragh earlier this month. Bashir Biyoum Zain has only run on this track and is obviously on the upgrade after beating Rock Pipit in a handicap last month though he meets better rivals here. The remaining pair will need to show improvement to get competitive.
