We can't see too many getting heavily involved in this handicap and it looks to be between Franksalot and Concubine, with the vote going to Franksalot. The selection has gone well on both his starts here, without winning, and has to shoulder a 5lb penalty for landing a similar type of contest at Brighton last week. This is his optimum trip, ground conditions suit, and with few others jumping out off the card, he may just be capable of defying that extra weight and following up. The main danger looks to be course and distance winner Concubine. The mare runs from a mark 2lb lower than that success here, and on that basis must have a chance. She has run well off higher marks since then and now looks to have been given some sort of an opportunity. However, it has been a long time between drinks and she may just have forgotten how to win, so although we respect her chance we are prepared to oppose her. Of the others Pango is well suited by the track and going but has not run over this short a trip since October 2001. It remains to be seen if he will have the speed for seven furlongs, but he is not totally ruled out. The selection here though, is Franksalot.
