      Verdict

David Nicholls complicates matters by saddling six of the 17 runners including recent York winner Pax and Loyal Tycoon, who is running into form, but the vote goes to Mine Behind, who is preferred to Idle Power. The last mentioned has won his last two starts and is clearly on top of his game at present but Jim Boyle's horse may find this coming too soon. Con Allen's Prince Aaron has been raised 9lbs by the handicapper for his win at Kempton last time and has more to do now and of more interest may be Mutawaqed, who finished behind Prince Aaron last time but is again the mount of Johnny Murtagh. The Peter Harris-trained Polish Emperor and Jayanjay, from the stable of Brooke Sanders, are others worthy of a mention but the vote goes to Mine Behind. John Best's colt was done few favours with the draw behind Raccoon (runs in the 3:30pm) at Musselburgh last week and is better judged on earlier form at Thirsk and Ayr. Well treated on that evidence, Mine Behind is taken to gain an overdue success.
