In depth

Verdict

Paddocks Lounge has won three times at this level this season but was bought out of Sophie Leech’s yard after his latest success here over a slightly shorter trip and has to give 11lb and upwards to his rivals. GAMBOL was retained by Ian Williams after giving the reluctant Mount Shamsan weight and a beating at Stratford. The runner-up was second again at Taunton last week so the form may be better than it looked at the time. The Wexfordian also has claims as he was beaten less than a length at Southwell in February before another second at that track over fences.
