In depth

Verdict

Mr McDuff had taken twelve attempts before getting off the mark at Worcester last time out but his trainer reportedly said that it had taken him a while to find out his ideal trip. He's in another modest contest today and the handicapper only asking him to carry six pounds extra, he is selected as the TEAMtalk pick for the nightcap. Strong Arrow is better known as a chaser these days and attempts to make hay off a lower rating. Ferdy Murphy is not in form at present and his horses are best watched at the moment. Meltonian is not without a hope in this race. His second to Homeleigh Mooncoin represented his best effort for some time - it is perhaps a little unfortunate that the handicapper saw fit to shove him up 3lbs for it. Jokers Charm has his first run over hurdles for two years - the booking of Guest is interesting but his better chasing performances appear to be on a softer surface.
