Champagne Bob won at Newbury and Leicester in July but failed to cope with a further weight rise when chasing a hat-trick at Newmarket last month. Garth Rockett has been placed the last twice and won at Chelmsford in June but seems to prefer a faster surface. N OVER J upped his game last month and Bill Knight’s gelding looks ready to open his account now as Javelin and Brockey Rise have something to prove back on Turf, though the latter’s yard won this with a three-year-old last year and also run Shovel It On and Give Em A Clump.
