        Verdict

        FANNIE BY GASLIGHT’s margin of victory at Goodwood was exaggerated by the taxing surface but she did win on faster ground over this trip at Salisbury in July and Scott McCullagh’s claim is a huge plus in a race like this. Kempton winner Jedhi is having a first run on Turf and has been raised a massive 9lb but Solar Echo arrives in good form and should make her presence felt, though is closely matched with the maiden Junderstand on Sandown running. Contrive was a fair fourth over a mile at Sandown last month, though hasn’t been getting home over longer trips and Syndicate has a bit to prove now.
