In depth
Verdict
Not the strongest of races to end proceedings and it may fall to Grand Prairie, with The Local and Little Ross suggested as the main rivals. Gary Moore's gelding, five times a winner in Spain, was backed to beat The Local at Plumpton last time but got going too late and in the end went down by 10 lengths. With that experience under his belt and the 14 pound pull in the weights, Grand Prairie is expected to gain his revenge. Little Ross was just behind Grand Prairie in that Plumpton contest and although slightly worse off at the weights today will appreciate this extra furlong. Of the others Come Bye wasn't beaten far behind Mendosina at Fontwell last time and the Martin Pipe trained Maidstone Mistral has shown signs of ability, however we will return to Grand Prairie for the selection.
