Verdict
Hawk's Landing is proving frustrating to follow but is given another chance, with Nonantais and Monty's Double put forward as the main rivals. Jonjo O'Neill's gelding fell in the race won by the impressive Well Chief on his chasing debut. He wasn't a bad hurdler on his day but is expected by the yard to make a better chaser, so if his confidence hasn't taken too much of a knock he could very well bounce back and win this. Nonantais is rated slightly higher than the selection over hurdles so must be given a chance on his debut over the larger obstacles. Monty's Double could be the dark horse in the field, he hasn't raced for well over a year and he's making his debut over fences, however on the plus side he's from a shrewd yard and is certainly bred for the game, he is one to check out in the market. Sossus Vlei has also shown plenty of ability and is worth a second look, however on this occasion we will side with Hawk's Landing.
