Verdict

A small field for this maiden where ALL WE KNOW is selected to win on debut from Widezain and Submariner. The selection looks the pick of the newcomers on pedigree, being related to plenty of success over this sort of trip and beyond. Henry Cecil has begun the turf campaign in good style and his Green Desert gelding is sure to be well prepared. Of slight concern is the need for blinkers first time, but we will place our trust in the maestro and side with his inmate. Widezain has shown the most promise of those to have had a run so far. Mick Channon's colt improved after just one run as a juvenile to come back well at Yarmouth earlier in the month. This faster ground shouldn't be a problem and he is respected. Submariner is a well-bred Mark Johnston-trained colt by Singspiel, and he looks sure to win a maiden if that pedigree is anything to go by, although he is likely to come on for this run and he will probably be better over 10f. Neither of the others make serious appeal and All We Know is the one for us.
