Verdict

GALLILEO FIGARO has to shoulder a 14lb penalty for back-to-back wins, but the manner of her latest success at Plumpton suggests that she can complete the hat-trick in what is not such a competitive contest. Claimer Alex Merriam retains the ride on the Neil King-trained selection, who has shown that around two-and-a-half miles and cut in the ground sees her at her best. Of course this will be tougher now, but there is nothing else lining up in such good form and we'll take her to maintain it. Stablemate Leo McGarry didn't do badly on his return from a lengthy absence last month and the trainer has given him six weeks and more to recover from that run. We should see some improvement today. Pocketwood likes it here and also acts with cut in the ground. He is in decent form and can show up well. Buffalo Bob acts on the going, is lightly-raced and open to improvement, and gives the impression that the further they go the better he will be, so he is one to look out for over this slightly longer trip. Armenian Boy had gone off the boil somewhat before a year off the track and his return means that the jury are out where he is concerned, so we'll stick with Gallileo Figaro.
