In depth

Verdict

Basoda has fallen to an attractive mark and certainly has the past form to figure. Font looks the best of Lawney Hill's two returning runners while Leg Iron was popular at Plumpton last month and only beaten a neck by Franklin Roosevelt. He should be in the firing-line with a repeat effort and Starsky Des Mottes handled the step up to 2m6f at Newton Abbot, though has a further half-mile to cover here. RIVER D'OR was more like his old self when fourth at Towcester last time and is 3lb lower than when successful over course and distance last year. He gets the nod in this finale.
