In depth
Verdict
The weights for this suggest that Willie John Daly has a good chance of reversing recent form with The Grey Butler and the Phillip Hobbs-trained gelding is selected to put the record straight today. Lock Inn and Crookstown Castle were both very well beaten last time out and both have a little to prove now. So Ziggy Zen, a fair performer over middle distances for Charles Cyzer on the Flat, is one to monitor for each way players. However, we return to Willie John Daly for win only purposes and this former Irish hurdler can put his experience to good use today. The son of Mister Lord has no penalties to deal with and he is sure to be a different proposition for The Grey Butler this afternoon.
