In depth
Verdict
Ice Cool Lad, Labula Bay and Dragon King are all shortlisted here and we will make Ice Cool Lad the tentative selection. The gelding from the Richard Rowe yard ran well last time at Ascot when a good second behind Strong Magic. He is a little high in the weights at present but he has won all his three races on this track and loves it around here so is taken to score. Labula Bay should give our selection the most to do as he won in impressive style when defeating Auburn Spirit last time. He is respected here but has never won over this trip so is opposed for that reason as it might just stretch his stamina. Dragon King is the other worth consideration but he remains a little high in the weights and will surely need some respite from the handicapper before he is winning again. The rest will need to improve to trouble the principles and Ice Cool Lad is given the verdict.
