In depth
Verdict
Pardon What, Montel Girl and Rare Presence are the three shortlisted in the finale and we will take a chance on Rare Presence. The gelding from the Chris Morlock yard ran better than the bare form suggests when third behind Must Bite at Folkestone. He made a bad blunder at the second last on that day but could be capable of a big run here if he jumps well. Pardon What ran a fair race when second behind Native Cunning at Plumpton last time but he has a tendency to find at least one too good and for that reason is taken on. Montel Girl was fading when she fell last time at Plumpton behind Solo Dancer, so she will need to improve to feature at the finish here, while Irishkawa Bellevue would not be out of it on the pick of his form, but it has been a while since he has hit those heights. This is a competitive race to round off the card and we will make Rare Presence the tentative choice.
